Privacy Policy — KeepSell

KeepSell is a home-inventory tool. Access is invite-only — there is no public sign-up — but it is used by more than one person, each with their own private account, and account holders can optionally share an inventory with other invited people (e.g. a family member). This policy explains what data the app handles, where it goes, and who can see it.

What data this app collects

• Photos you take of items to catalog them, including any additional angle photos you add.
• Item details — name, brand, model, category, condition, description, estimated price, room, and any notes you add — either generated by AI from your photos or typed/edited in directly.
• Account info — your email address, used for sign-in.

Where that data goes

• Anthropic (Claude API) — photos are sent to Anthropic's API to identify the item and draft a listing description. Identifying an item may also involve Anthropic searching the public web (e.g. eBay, auction/price-guide sites, Reddit) using details derived from the photo, to find comparable listings for pricing — your photo itself is not published anywhere by this process. • Odoo — item records (everything except photos) are stored in a self-hosted Odoo instance, private to this app.
• Supabase — photos are stored in a private Supabase storage bucket; account sign-in, invited-viewer permissions, item notes, and the shared identification data described below are stored in a private Supabase database. See Supabase's privacy policy.
• eBay — if you choose to use the "List on eBay" feature, the item's title, description, price, condition, and photos are sent to eBay's Sell APIs to create a listing under your own eBay seller account. KeepSell only acts on your behalf, using your own eBay authorization — it does not share your eBay data with any other party.
• Vercel — the app itself is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard web request data (like any hosting provider) to serve the app.

Data is not sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any purpose beyond running this app for its users.

Inventories are private by default, with optional sharing

Each account's inventory is private and visible only to that account, unless the account holder explicitly invites another person to view it. An invited viewer can see that inventory's items, photos, and notes read-only, and can add their own notes to items — they cannot edit, sell, list, or delete anything. The account holder can revoke this access at any time.

Shared identification data

To help identify and price items — including items other users catalog in the future — KeepSell keeps a shared, cross-account record of items it has identified: name, brand, model, category, and price (including the actual sale price, if you record one). This shared record does not include photos, room, personal notes, or anything else that identifies you or your household — only the item-identification details themselves. It is used to give the AI more accurate reference points when identifying similar items for any user.

Data retention and deletion

Cataloged items remain in the database until manually deleted from within the app ("Delete item"), which removes the record and its stored photo(s). Entries in the shared identification data (above) are anonymized snapshots and are not automatically deleted when the original item is — they don't contain anything that identifies you or the item's owner.
